Harvesting

We select the perfectly ripened pods straight from our 60+ year-old cacao trees. We carefully cut them from the trunk to preserve the delicate flower cushions that produce the next harvest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear or bring? +

We recommend lightweight, comfortable clothing. Close-toed shoes are great, but flip-flops are also possible as long as it's been dry weather. Don't forget your bug repellent, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.

Is the tour suitable for children? +

Absolutely! Our tours are very family-friendly. Kids especially love harvesting the cacao pod, tasting the sweet pulp straight from the pod, and making their own chocolate treats.

Do I need to book in advance? +

Yes, reservations are required. Because we limit our group sizes to provide an intimate and personalized experience, we recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance.

How do we get to the farm? +

We are located in Dolphin Bay and are accessible only by boat. You can easily catch a direct private water taxi from Bocas Town or Almirante.

Budget-friendly option (via Tierra Oscura): Take a water taxi from Isla Colon to Almirante ($5), then a cab to Tierra Oscura ($2.50). From Tierra Oscura (and surrounding hotels), we are able to pick you up and drop you off for a $20 total round trip (for up to 4 people) when booking the tour.

What if it rains? +

It's the rainforest! Our workshop area is fully covered, but please bring your own rain gear. Tours usually proceed in light to medium rain, but we'll contact you to reschedule if conditions are extreme.
