A Living Cacao Forest
Our cacao forest is more than just a place of harvest; it is a thriving sanctuary. The same canopy that shades our ancient cacao trees provides a vital home for kinkajous, sloths, and vibrant birds like trogons and owls. When you walk through our forest, you are stepping into a living ecosystem where every tree plays a role in the delicate balance of the jungle.
The Tree to Truffle Journey
Experience a process unchanged for thousands of years. Trace the raw bean's transformation into artisanal jungle truffles.
Harvesting
Selecting only the ripe, golden pods from our 60+ year-old cacao trees.
Fermenting
The vital "sweating" phase where our beans begin to develop their deep, soul-stirring flavor profiles.
Sun-Drying
Drying the beans on raised beds under the pure Caribbean sun.
Roasting
Developing aromatic complexities through the gentle roasting of the beans in our oven.
Cracking & Winnowing
The hands-on craft of separating nibs from husks.
Grinding
Grinding nibs into a rich, smooth 100% pure cacao mass; this is the true foundation of our artisanal chocolate.
Truffle Crafting
The finale. Blending with freshly made coconut milk and local cane sugar for our award-winning truffles.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear or bring?
We recommend lightweight, comfortable clothing. Close-toed shoes are great, but flip-flops are also possible as long as it's been dry weather. Don't forget your bug repellent, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Absolutely! Our tours are very family-friendly. Kids especially love harvesting the cacao pod, tasting the sweet pulp straight from the pod, and making their own chocolate treats.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, reservations are required. Because we limit our group sizes to provide an intimate and personalized experience, we recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance.
How do we get to the farm?
We are located in Dolphin Bay and are accessible only by boat. You can easily catch a direct private water taxi from Bocas Town or Almirante.
Budget-friendly option (via Tierra Oscura):
Take a water taxi from Isla Colon to Almirante ($5), then a cab to Tierra Oscura ($2.50). From Tierra Oscura, we pick you up for a $20 total round trip.
What if it rains?
It's the rainforest! Our workshop area is fully covered, but please bring your own rain gear. Tours usually proceed in light to medium rain, but we'll contact you to reschedule if conditions are extreme.
